The audience thought a goal was coming when Rony Netto got free with Sedat Korcan in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 23rd minute, one of goviza:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for goviza. The referee gave FLAMENGO a penalty, 25 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Wesley Carvalho, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of goviza's Sedat Korcan. 1-0. In the 28th match minute, goviza was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Seyrani Yezid to maneuver through the defense. 31 minutes into the match, goviza's goalkeeper Sedat Korcan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wesley Carvalho. Sedat Korcan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vítor Queirós, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Seyrani Yezid sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hélder Faria stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Seyrani Yezid's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. Seyrani Yezid succeeded in the game's 43rd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-2. In the 48th minute Sidney Diniz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sedat Korcan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vítor Queirós was the one to do the kick off. If Wesley Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FLAMENGO's Hélder Faria proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save FLAMENGO from getting a goal against them. 55 minutes into the match, goviza's goal looked a bit too open when Amauri Machado came free, but Sedat Korcan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sedat Korcan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amauri Machado in the 62nd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vítor Queirós in the 63rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sedat Korcan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vítor Queirós in the 64th minute of play forced goviza's goalkeeper Sedat Korcan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to goviza getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Orhan Vezir hit a great ball. Sedat Korcan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wesley Carvalho in the 69th minute of play. In the 70th minute Wesley Carvalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sedat Korcan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the goviza defense, Rony Netto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sedat Korcan. The goviza fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sedat Korcan should have stopped the shot. In the 79th minute, Wesley Carvalho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sedat Korcan was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Seyrani Yezid got free with Hélder Faria in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of goviza booed when FLAMENGO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sidney Diniz didn't get a good kick on the ball.
