Pål Sefastsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joaquim de Barros in the 17th minute of play. In the 20th minute, Luís Caeiro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The VB-Team fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. VB-Team's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Álvaro Rezende in the 28th minute. Pål Sefastsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joaquim de Barros in the 32nd minute of play. Armindo Salgado was a little too slow when Carlos Alberto Tevez got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 38th minute. The score was now 1-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luís Caeiro in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pål Sefastsson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Caeiro in the 43rd minute of play forced National Team Cape-Verde's goalkeeper Pål Sefastsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Armindo Salgado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Klas Bergqvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. In the 66th minute, Klas Bergqvist ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Armindo Salgado was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. The audience was convinced that Bennvar Post's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Armindo Salgado was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. In the 76th minute Luís Caeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pål Sefastsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
