In the 6th minute, Mihai Opriș got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Codruț Ichimescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nistor Arjoca having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mihai Opriș in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Calistrat Bara prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, -BZF- Barca de Buzau's Eduard Nechifor got a free kick in the 20th minute. 25 minutes into the match, -BZF- Barca de Buzau's goal looked a bit too open when Aurel Mustea came free, but Calistrat Bara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mihai Opriș during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to -BZF- Petrolul Berca getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Mihai Opriș hit a great ball. After 36 minutes of play -BZF- Petrolul Berca's Eliodor Birișu was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, -BZF- Petrolul Berca's Eliodor Birișu got a free kick in the 36th minute. -BZF- Petrolul Berca's defense didn't have a chance, in the 37th minute, when Codruț Ichimescu scored to the left of an out of position Nistor Arjoca, making the score, 2-1. A collision led to -BZF- Petrolul Berca getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Liviu Hurmuz hit a great ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mihai Opriș made a kick off. Emilian Ciprian scored 2-2 in the 51st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Calistrat Bara, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Calistrat Bara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliodor Rada in the 54th minute of the match. In the 61st match minute, -BZF- Petrolul Berca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Liviu Hurmuz to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 73 minutes, Liviu Hurmuz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. -BZF- Petrolul Berca's supporters crossed their fingers, but Liviu Hurmuz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nistor Arjoca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Codruț Ichimescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 81st minute, Aurel Mustea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nistor Arjoca stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ovidiu Pătrașcu's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mihai Opriș in the 89th minute of play forced -BZF- Barca de Buzau's goalkeeper Calistrat Bara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Emanuel Hristea during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. With his leg Calistrat Bara managed to avoid a goal in the 93rdth minute, when -BZF- Petrolul Berca's Mihai Opriș fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mihai Opriș got free with Calistrat Bara in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The whistle blew for the end of the second half and the match was still tied. The players were able to take a short break before lining up again for extra-time.
After the break the players went out on the field to play the first half of overtime with revived energy in their legs. -BZF- Barca de Buzau's Calistrat Dimofte started the play with the initial kick off. In the 100th match minute, -BZF- Barca de Buzau was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudiu Hurmuz to maneuver through the defense. After 105 minutes, Ovidiu Pătrașcu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the -BZF- Barca de Buzau and the -BZF- Petrolul Berca players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 105th minute, Ovidiu Pătrașcu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Both sets of players were looking tired when the whistle went to end the half. Everyone was pleased to get a few minutes to rest before extra-time resumed.
Everyone could clearly see that both -BZF- Petrolul Berca's and -BZF- Barca de Buzau's players was becoming tired in their legs when -BZF- Petrolul Berca's Mihai Opriș did the kick off in the second half of the overtime. Calistrat Bara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliodor Rada in the 120th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mihai Opriș in the 121st minute of play forced -BZF- Barca de Buzau's goalkeeper Calistrat Bara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ovidiu Pătrașcu scored 3-2 in the 125th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nistor Arjoca, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the referee blew the final whistle, -BZF- Barca de Buzau could leave the field as winners, despite -BZF- Petrolul Berca having more of the ball for most of the match.
