After 19 played minutes Floresta Negra FC got a freekick which was hit by Clemente Moura. Liviu Terzian blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Egun Pais having to make a save. Floresta Negra FC's Egun Pais played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afonso da Cunha in the 30th minute of play. With his leg Egun Pais managed to avoid a goal in the 30thth minute, when CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's Afonso da Cunha fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 31st minute of the match CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ got a corner. Floresta Negra FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Xande Campbell ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Virgiawan Laturua heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. After a rather tough play, Floresta Negra FC's Carlos Fernando Azevedo got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Afonso da Cunha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Egun Pais tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Andy Cole made a kick off. In the 51st minute Andy Cole shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ludomil Ziomkowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ fans' excitement grew in the 59th match minute when CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's Afonso da Cunha looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ made a substitution.
