With a couple of smart ball manuevers Geovanildo Luis in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Egun Pais saved Floresta Negra FC from getting behind. In the 6th minute of the match Joinville City - FSCMZ got a corner. Floresta Negra FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Henrique Camargo ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Joinville City - FSCMZ's João Francisco Arce to fire away a dangerous shot which Egun Pais despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 8th minute, Gernando Rocha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Geovanildo Luis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Egun Pais read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. Haji Sarap showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andy Cole, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Geovanildo Luis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Egun Pais made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Geovanildo Luis sent off a good shot on target. Egun Pais made an important save on a dangerous shot by Geovanildo Luis in the 30th minute. Floresta Negra FC's Hector Bazkoare quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Karsten Ulbak, made in the 32nd minute of the game. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Geovanildo Luis was the one to do the kick off. 57 minutes into the match, Joinville City - FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Andy Cole came free, but Haji Sarap reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Floresta Negra FC were awarded a corner in the 58th minute after Joinville City - FSCMZ's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Lokon Pøhl took the corner. If Lokon Pøhl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Floresta Negra FC made a substitution. Harris Zoolingen replaced Milen Kúlvachev. Floresta Negra FC's Jardel Lewandowski was substituted for Andy Cole. The supporters of Joinville City - FSCMZ booed when Floresta Negra FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Areion Koulpasis didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 77thth minute of the game Lokon Pøhl who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Joinville City - FSCMZ's Haji Sarap was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 82 minutes into the match, Floresta Negra FC's goal looked a bit too open when Adhemar Santos came free, but Egun Pais reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lokon Pøhl in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Haji Sarap prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Joinville City - FSCMZ's Haji Sarap played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lokon Pøhl in the 87th minute of play. 90 minutes into the match, Marcus Allbäck had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Egun Pais. Floresta Negra FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcus Allbäck was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adhemar Santos in the 94th minute of play forced Floresta Negra FC's goalkeeper Egun Pais to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 96th minute Adhemar Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Egun Pais saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Floresta Negra FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Joinville City - FSCMZ.
