After 3 minutes of play, Espirillo FC's Joaquim Fernandes made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Donato Bordon was left in no man's land by his defense there! Espirillo FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Aaron Cutberto in the 7th minute. Jorge Iztal made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Thomas Bjørgum sent off a good shot on target. 9 minutes into the match, Espirillo FC's goalkeeper Jorge Iztal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Thomas Bjørgum. Donato Bordon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joaquim Fernandes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 14 minutes into the match, Esbjerg fB's goal looked a bit too open when Joaquim Fernandes came free, but Donato Bordon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Espirillo FC defense, Servet Turabi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jorge Iztal. The Espirillo FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jorge Iztal should have stopped the shot. In the 20thth minute of the game Aaron Cutberto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Esbjerg fB's Donato Bordon was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Donato Bordon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristo Elia in the 22nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Esbjerg fB's zone, Abel Demario stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Donato Bordon came out of the goal and Abel Demario tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jorge Iztal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thomas Bjørgum in the 25th minute of the match. 27 minutes into the game, Aaron Cutberto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Donato Bordon was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Espirillo FC's Jorge Iztal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pelle Hvidegaard in the 29th minute of play. Donato Bordon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aaron Cutberto in the 31st minute of the match. Jorge Iztal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Severin Torbell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36th minute of the match Esbjerg fB got a corner. Espirillo FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ib Dalsted ran over to the corner to take the kick. The supporters of Espirillo FC booed when Esbjerg fB was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Severin Torbell didn't get a good kick on the ball. Servet Turabi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Jorge Iztal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zakarias Brejnrod kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. A collision led to Esbjerg fB getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Mourits Wermelin hit a great ball. In the 42nd minute of the match Aaron Cutberto sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Donato Bordon skillfully saved the ball. Servet Turabi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Jorge Iztal made a huge save. Donato Bordon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joaquim Fernandes, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
Mourits Wermelin kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Espirillo FC were awarded a corner in the 54th minute after Esbjerg fB's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Aaron Cutberto took the corner. After taking down the ball on Espirillo FC's corner Cristo Elia fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Donato Bordon quite easily take care of the ball. In the 62nd match minute, Espirillo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnoldo Arotza to maneuver through the defense. Leandro Viviano hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Aaron Cutbertos short, quick shot in the 69thth minute got Donato Bordon to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Donato Bordon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristo Elia, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. 73 minutes into the match, Esbjerg fB's goal looked a bit too open when Cristo Elia came free, but Donato Bordon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aaron Cutberto in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Donato Bordon saved Esbjerg fB from getting behind. Donato Bordon made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Joaquim Fernandes sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 81 minutes, Joaquim Fernandes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Espirillo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joaquim Fernandes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aaron Cutberto did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-3 to the left of a surprised Donato Bordon 84 minutes into the match. Espirillo FC's Aaron Cutberto got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 88 minutes into the match, Espirillo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Thomas Bjørgum came free, but Jorge Iztal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 89 minutes into the match, Esbjerg fB's goalkeeper Donato Bordon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristo Elia. Aaron Cutberto's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 91stth minute, Donato Bordon skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Donato Bordon was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Espirillo FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Espirillo FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
