The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dalmacio Vermudo scored 0-1 in the 2nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Patrick Armstrong, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Peter Linkhorst came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the ManagerZone Crew fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Peter Linkhorst couldn't finish the play. 15 minutes into the match, ManagerZone Crew's goal looked a bit too open when Juvenal dos Santos came free, but Patrick Armstrong reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Patrick Armstrong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vladimir do Vale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vladimir do Vale might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Patrick Armstrong. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vladimir do Vale ran back to his position shaking his head. Patrick Armstrong showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dalmacio Vermudo in the 21st minute of the match. Andreas Sjöstrand was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 22 minutes into the match. After 23 played minutes ManagerZone Crew got a freekick which was hit by Andreas Sjöstrand. In the 32nd minute, Juvenal dos Santos made a precise shot to the right of Patrick Armstrong. ManagerZone Crew's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. If Thorbjörn Olerius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dalmacio Vermudo in the 38th minute of play forced ManagerZone Crew's goalkeeper Patrick Armstrong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to ManagerZone Crew getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Peter Linkhorst hit a great ball. Ladislav Telepovský showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Peter Linkhorst, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. The tension between the ManagerZone Crew and the Grêmio Santo André players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 50th minute Thorbjörn Olerius shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ladislav Telepovský saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ladislav Telepovský showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adrian Våleman in the 51st minute of the match. ManagerZone Crew's defense didn't have a chance, in the 68th minute, when Vladimir do Vale scored to the left of an out of position Patrick Armstrong, making the score, 1-4. If Peter Linkhorst had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ladislav Telepovský showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Peter Linkhorst, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. In the 86th minute, Jeferson Santana reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Patrick Armstrong. The goal made the score 1-6. In the 89th minute Marcus Majewski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ladislav Telepovský saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
