But to his dismay, Luiz Fabiano Domingues quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. When Biagio Gava fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Building's protests and gave Biagio Gava a yellow card for diving instead. In the 18th match minute, Building was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Biagio Gava to maneuver through the defense. Building's Ercole Damiani played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Délio do Vale in the 21st minute of play. Dino Massaro's late challenge caught a Merlin's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dino Massaro helped the player get up and apologised. In the 21st minute, Dino Massaro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Emanuele Ronconi kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. In the 27th minute Federico Lopez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrick Urbano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Délio do Vale made the kick off in the second half. Patrick Urbano came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Building's Dino Massaro. But to his dismay, Dino Massaro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. 56 minutes into the match, Merlin's goal looked a bit too open when Biagio Gava came free, but Patrick Urbano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ercole Damiani was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Vítor Marquez showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-5 in the 58 minute of play. Ercole Damiani made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luiz Fabiano Domingues in the 61st minute. Building's Dino Massaro got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Emanuele Ronconi charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Emanuele Ronconi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Building fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 65th minute. Penalty! Merlin's Patrick Urbano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emilio Primavera in the 70th minute of play. Ercole Damiani made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luiz Fabiano Domingues in the 72nd minute. After 73 minutes of play, Merlin's Délio do Vale made it 1-7 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ercole Damiani was left in no man's land by his defense there! Patrick Urbano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emilio Primavera in the 77th minute of the match. Ercole Damiani made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Patrick Queiroz sent off a good shot on target. Building's Ercole Damiani proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Building from getting a goal against them. Ercole Damiani took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Délio do Vale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Building booed when Merlin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patrick Queiroz didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Merlin getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Vítor Marquez hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Merlin's zone, Alvise Borgatello stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Patrick Urbano came out of the goal and Alvise Borgatello tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Building supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Merlin's performance. The match ended with a win for Merlin.
