The supporters of MUGAN FK booed when Dubai FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ferdinando Fantozzi didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpected shot in the 5th minute by Elşän Abduläzov got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 7 minutes into the game, Armando Madaio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Färzäli Äsädov was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Dubai FC's goalkeeper Comunardo Di Giacomo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. MUGAN FK were awarded a corner in the 12th minute after Dubai FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ibrahim Fätäliyev took the corner. A hard shot 18 in the game by Elşän Abduläzov from a close distance when the talented Comunardo Di Giacomo managed to make a qualified save. Dubai FC's players were relieved. In the 21st minute, MUGAN FK's Rubaul Daşdıyev dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Zaur Omarov's late challenge caught a Dubai FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zaur Omarov helped the player get up and apologised. In the 26th match minute, MUGAN FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zaur Omarov to maneuver through the defense. 29 minutes into the game, Elman Mälikov was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. MUGAN FK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dubai FC the free kick. Bernardo Lampa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Färzäli Äsädov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. MUGAN FK's Zaur Omarov got his second yellow card of the match in the 35th minute. The referee ordered Zaur Omarov off the ground. Zaur Omarov kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Elşän Abduläzov came free with the goalkeeper in the 38th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Comunardo Di Giacomo could save by the left post. After 39 minutes of play, MUGAN FK's Elşän Abduläzov made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Comunardo Di Giacomo was left in no man's land by his defense there! After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Elşän Abduläzov stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dave Scirea's late challenge caught a MUGAN FK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dave Scirea helped the player get up and apologised. In the 51st minute, Dave Scirea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 61 minutes, Armando Madaio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dubai FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Armando Madaio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. MUGAN FK's Färzäli Äsädov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernardo Lampa in the 62nd minute of play. In the 64th minute Elşän Abduläzov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Comunardo Di Giacomo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elşän Abduläzov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Comunardo Di Giacomo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elşän Abduläzov, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Elşän Abduläzov took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Comunardo Di Giacomo. Comunardo Di Giacomo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. Comunardo Di Giacomo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xalid Ağakärimov in the 88th minute of play.
