Délio do Vale made a great header on Merlin's corner, it was just that Avantul Sighiartau's Marius Tutuianu managed to reach the ball for a save. 15 minutes into the match, Avantul Sighiartau's goalkeeper Marius Tutuianu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luiz Fabiano Domingues. In the 18th match minute, Merlin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Pedro Cearense to maneuver through the defense. Marius Tutuianu came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Merlin's Luiz Fabiano Domingues. But to his dismay, Luiz Fabiano Domingues quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Patrick Urbano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cazimir Grecu, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. With a little luck, Avantul Sighiartau's Marius Tutuianu got control of the ball when Luiz Fabiano Domingues tried to sneak it across the goal line. Avantul Sighiartau's Marius Tutuianu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Délio do Vale in the 34th minute of play. Marius Tutuianu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Délio do Vale in the 36th minute of play. Luiz Fabiano Domingues who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 39thth minute tested the skills of Marius Tutuianu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 43 played minutes Merlin got a freekick which was hit by Patrick Queiroz. Luiz Fabiano Domingues could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Marius Tutuianu made a huge save. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cazimir Grecu was the one to do the kick off. Luiz Fabiano Domingues scored 2-0 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marius Tutuianu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Marius Tutuianu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Fabiano Domingues, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. A collision led to Avantul Sighiartau getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Emil Pancu hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luiz Fabiano Domingues in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marius Tutuianu saved Avantul Sighiartau from getting behind. 67 minutes into the match, Avantul Sighiartau's Cazimir Grecu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Patrick Urbano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Marius Tutuianu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patrick Queiroz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 74th match minute, Avantul Sighiartau was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iustin Dărmănescu to maneuver through the defense. In the 80th minute Andrei Ghionescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrick Urbano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Iustin Dărmănescu hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Avantul Sighiartau's Marius Tutuianu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Délio do Vale in the 85th minute of play. Délio do Vale's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marius Tutuianu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Niculae Mugur got free with Patrick Urbano in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Merlin had won after a very even match.
