In the 4th minute Wils FC were awarded a corner. Lorenz Van Deijck went to the cornerflag to take it. 12 minutes into the match, Wils FC's Harald De Messemaeckre sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mustafa Numan Beycan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Andreas Frans showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erlin Haaland, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Claus Van Dijck recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erlin Haaland in the 16th minute of play forced Wils FC's goalkeeper Andreas Frans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Roland Pluijssens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mustafa Numan Beycan having to interfere. Mustafa Numan Beycan came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Wils FC's Harald De Messemaeckre. But to his dismay, Harald De Messemaeckre quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Wils FC's Bryan Grootaers suffered a sore foot after 22 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Erlin Haaland during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Wils FC's Yanniek Sielis was substituted for Bryan Grootaers. Strahil Milyov's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Andreas Frans firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 27th minute Etienne Van Achteren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mustafa Numan Beycan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 28 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Wils FC! Andreas Frans had in the 30thth minute some difficulties stopping Federico Bero's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. When BASKIN FC's Erlin Haaland in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Wils FC's goalie prevented a goal. A collision led to Wils FC getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, Edwin Koppen put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Mustafa Numan Beycan. 42 minutes into the match, Harald De Messemaeckre had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mustafa Numan Beycan. BASKIN FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Harald De Messemaeckre was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edwin Koppen stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. BASKIN FC's Mustafa Numan Beycan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save BASKIN FC from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erlin Haaland in the 56th minute of play forced Wils FC's goalkeeper Andreas Frans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 57 minutes had been played when some careless play by Wils FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Federico Bero was slow to take the kick. During this time BASKIN FC's players had a chance to rest. When Erlin Haaland came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the BASKIN FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erlin Haaland couldn't finish the play. Harald De Messemaeckre could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Mustafa Numan Beycan made a huge save. With a little luck, BASKIN FC's Mustafa Numan Beycan got control of the ball when Edwin Koppen tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mustafa Numan Beycan made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Harald De Messemaeckre sent off a good shot on target. Yanniek Sielis struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Mustafa Numan Beycan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wils FC. Wils FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
