Cayetano Esdras was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cayetano Esdras stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Horácio Pereira's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. The supporters of De Boedo Vengo booed when SORRISO E. C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfredo da Rocha didn't get a good kick on the ball. SORRISO E. C.'s Douglas Viana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amadeo Gomesano in the 34th minute of play. Douglas Viana didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Amadeo Gomesano went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 46th minute, Alfredo da Rocha ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cayetano Esdras was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alberto Mendonça to make the kick off. In the 57th minute, Alfredo da Rocha reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Cayetano Esdras. The goal made the score 1-3. Orlando Segio charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Orlando Segio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 60th match minute, De Boedo Vengo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orlando Segio to maneuver through the defense. With splendid footwork Alberto Mendonça arrived in front of goal to shoot 1-4 by the left pole in the game's 64th minute. After 71 played minutes De Boedo Vengo got a freekick which was hit by Simon Berdaitz. Cayetano Esdras didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 73rd minute, which inside left pole to 1-5. Alfredo da Rocha scored 1-8 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cayetano Esdras, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 96th minute Alfredo da Rocha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cayetano Esdras saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched SORRISO E. C. eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
