The penalty shot was made by Yetkin Uğurlubey, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Abousem fk's Ivar Bergqvist. 1-0. 8 minutes into the match, Beşiktaş's goal looked a bit too open when Kåre Petersson came free, but Mehmet Anıl Sayhan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Abousem fk's Torbjörn Hökkvist got a free kick in the 12th minute. Karahan Başsoy might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ivar Bergqvist. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Karahan Başsoy ran back to his position shaking his head. Hurşit Ayana was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 14th minute. Beşiktaş's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Hurşit Ayana might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ivar Bergqvist. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hurşit Ayana ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience was convinced that Hurşit Ayana's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ivar Bergqvist was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. The supporters of Beşiktaş booed when Abousem fk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tony Brun didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Kevin Broberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Abousem fk's supporters rose to their feet, but Kevin Broberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mehmet Anıl Sayhan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 24 minutes, Karl-Ove Eckegren mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Abousem fk and the Beşiktaş players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Abousem fk getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Karl-Ove Eckegren hit a great ball. 25 minutes into the match, Abousem fk's goalkeeper Ivar Bergqvist had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Karahan Başsoy. After some careless play in the Beşiktaş defense, Kåre Petersson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mehmet Anıl Sayhan. The Beşiktaş fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mehmet Anıl Sayhan should have stopped the shot. Abousem fk's Ivar Bergqvist proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Abousem fk from getting a goal against them. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Karl-Ove Eckegren in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mehmet Anıl Sayhan saved Beşiktaş from getting behind. Aktan Halıcı kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. In the 39th minute, Kåre Petersson made a precise shot to the right of Mehmet Anıl Sayhan. Beşiktaş's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Kevin Broberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mehmet Anıl Sayhan having to interfere. The Beşiktaş players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Abousem fk were winning 1-2.
Ivar Bergqvist stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hurşit Ayana's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. Torbjörn Hökkvist's late challenge caught a Beşiktaş's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Torbjörn Hökkvist helped the player get up and apologised. Torbjörn Hökkvist kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. When Karahan Başsoy came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Beşiktaş fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karahan Başsoy couldn't finish the play. Mehmet Anıl Sayhan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kåre Petersson in the 63rd minute of the match. Karahan Başsoy blasted a shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ivar Bergqvist having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kevin Broberg in the 65th minute of play forced Beşiktaş's goalkeeper Mehmet Anıl Sayhan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 67th minute Karahan Başsoy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivar Bergqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Karahan Başsoy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Ivar Bergqvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 73 played minutes Abousem fk got a freekick which was hit by Simon Josefsson. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Karahan Başsoy in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ivar Bergqvist prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 76th match minute, Abousem fk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Torbjörn Hökkvist to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 77 minutes, Karahan Başsoy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Beşiktaş's supporters crossed their fingers, but Karahan Başsoy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hurşit Ayana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Abousem fk's zone, Karahan Başsoy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ivar Bergqvist came out of the goal and Karahan Başsoy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Karahan Başsoy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Ivar Bergqvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 86 played minutes Beşiktaş got a freekick which was hit by Aygün Şanlı. After 87 played minutes, Abousem fk's Simon Josefsson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Mehmet Anıl Sayhan came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Abousem fk reached it. Beşiktaş's Mehmet Anıl Sayhan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Beşiktaş from getting a goal against them. 92 minutes into the match, Beşiktaş's goalkeeper Mehmet Anıl Sayhan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Karl-Ove Eckegren. The Abousem fk supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Abousem fk would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
