When Théophile Chaumet fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Artres's protests and gave Théophile Chaumet a yellow card for diving instead. Altino Bulhosa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 41 minutes into the game, Artres's Gilbert Caussade nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hildeberto Neves made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Tom Bonnardel scored 0-3 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hildeberto Neves, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half Artres were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After a rather tough play, SUPER DRAGÕES FC's Cláudio Varela got a free kick in the 51st minute.
