The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pierrick Le Moing during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Artres fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 3rd minute. Penalty! An unexpectedly hard shot by Torbjörn Hökkvist in the 7th minute of play forced Artres's goalkeeper Flavien Cardot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Abousem fk getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Torbjörn Hökkvist hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Artres's zone, Kåre Petersson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Flavien Cardot came out of the goal and Kåre Petersson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 15 minutes into the match, Abousem fk's goalkeeper Ivar Bergqvist had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gilbert Caussade. Ivar Bergqvist came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Artres's Gilbert Caussade. But to his dismay, Gilbert Caussade quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gilbert Caussade in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ivar Bergqvist saved Abousem fk from getting behind. Gilbert Caussade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Ivar Bergqvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ivar Bergqvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tom Bonnardel in the 33rd minute of the match. Alphonse Ballon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivar Bergqvist having to interfere. Tom Bonnardel might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ivar Bergqvist. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tom Bonnardel ran back to his position shaking his head. 42 minutes into the match, Abousem fk's goalkeeper Ivar Bergqvist had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gilbert Caussade. 44 minutes into the match, Gilbert Caussade had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ivar Bergqvist. Abousem fk's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gilbert Caussade was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. With a little luck, Abousem fk's Ivar Bergqvist got control of the ball when Tom Bonnardel tried to sneak it across the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tom Bonnardel made a kick off. 51 minutes in the game, Tom Bonnardel dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Artres's Flavien Cardot proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Artres from getting a goal against them. In the 56th minute, Tom Bonnardel ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ivar Bergqvist was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Ivar Bergqvist stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tom Bonnardel's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. Artres's Mathieu Sirot quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Marc Runeberg, made in the 61st minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tom Bonnardel in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ivar Bergqvist saved Abousem fk from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Karl-Ove Eckegren managed to get in a good position for a shot. Abousem fk's supporters rose to their feet, but Karl-Ove Eckegren was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Flavien Cardot breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 82 minutes into the match, Abousem fk's goal looked a bit too open when Tom Bonnardel came free, but Ivar Bergqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Kåre Petersson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match clock showed 88 minutes, the score became 4-1 when Gilbert Caussade sped through Abousem fk's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ivar Bergqvist. Abousem fk's Ivar Bergqvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilbert Caussade in the 92nd minute of play. When Kåre Petersson fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Abousem fk's protests and gave Kåre Petersson a yellow card for diving instead. Artres's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
