Kurt Tham made an important save on a dangerous shot by Amerigo Del Grosso in the 5th minute. Kurt Tham made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Amerigo Del Grosso sent off a good shot on target. After 9 played minutes Arturo Trentini rounded Galatasaray GS's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. Galatasaray GS's Kurt Tham proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Galatasaray GS from getting a goal against them. After some careless play in the Galatasaray GS defense, Beppe Silveri kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kurt Tham. The Galatasaray GS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kurt Tham should have stopped the shot. Ernesto Bergamini charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ernesto Bergamini the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Felice Del Greco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dan Åkesson in the 32nd minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, Burundi's goal looked a bit too open when Dan Åkesson came free, but Felice Del Greco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Beppe Silveri took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kurt Tham. Kurt Tham dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. Kurt Tham showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arturo Trentini, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Kurt Tham made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arturo Trentini in the 46th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dan Åkesson to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Amerigo Del Grosso ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kurt Tham was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-0. Kurt Tham took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amerigo Del Grosso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Galatasaray GS defense, Amerigo Del Grosso kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kurt Tham. The Galatasaray GS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kurt Tham should have stopped the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Anthony Marzoli during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Burundi getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Anthony Marzoli hit a great ball. After 66 played minutes Galatasaray GS got a freekick which was hit by Leif Smitt. The referee felt a red card was in order, 72 minutes into the game, when Ferdinando Esposito put in a rough tackle. Burundi:s Felice Del Greco showed great skill when he stopped Thor Kellman:s penalty. After 74 played minutes Galatasaray GS got a freekick which was hit by Freddie Sandström. The throw-in from Leif Smitt in the 77th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Burundi's Ernesto Bergamini. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bo Tinglöv got free with Felice Del Greco in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 86 minutes into the game, Amerigo Del Grosso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Burundi's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Galatasaray GS the free kick. In the 86th match minute, Burundi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amerigo Del Grosso to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot by Thor Kellman from long distance, 87 minutes into the match, got Felice Del Greco's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After 93 minutes of play, Burundi's Arturo Trentini made it 8-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kurt Tham was left in no man's land by his defense there! Felice Del Greco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dan Åkesson in the 98th minute of the match. Burundi walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
