After a rather tough play, Valdarachas SAD's Arsenio Verdaguer got a free kick in the 4th minute. 9 minutes into the game, Amerigo Del Grosso recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Angel Yeste. Amerigo Del Grosso showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. The referee gave Burundi a penalty, 13 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Fulvio Burgnich, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Valdarachas SAD's Angel Yeste. 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roberto Cainzos in the 16th minute of play forced Burundi's goalkeeper Felice Del Greco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Ferdinando Esposito fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Burundi's protests and gave Ferdinando Esposito a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Valdarachas SAD booed when Burundi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ferdinando Esposito didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 24 minutes, Arturo Trentini managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Burundi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arturo Trentini was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Felice Del Greco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Saturnin Iglesias, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. If Arturo Trentini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 32 minutes, Ernesto Bergamini managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Burundi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ernesto Bergamini was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 35th minute, Beppe Silveri ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Angel Yeste was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Amerigo Del Grosso scored 5-0 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Angel Yeste, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Beppe Silveri came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Burundi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Beppe Silveri couldn't finish the play. When Burundi's Arturo Trentini in the 44th minute got a chance for a shot 44th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Saturnin Iglesias to make the kick off. Ernesto Bergamini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Angel Yeste tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 57th minute Saturnin Iglesias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felice Del Greco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Arturo Trentini managed to get in a good position for a shot. Burundi's supporters rose to their feet, but Arturo Trentini was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Angel Yeste breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Angel Yeste stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Arturo Trentini's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amerigo Del Grosso in the 95th minute of play forced Valdarachas SAD's goalkeeper Angel Yeste to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arsenio Verdaguer got free with Felice Del Greco in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. There was no doubt that Burundi were the better team. Burundi's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
