Hamburger SV's attentive Matías de Lara managed to snatch the ball when Grigoris Spanoulis made a throw-in in the 16th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vahdet Olgun in the 20th minute of play forced Derminator's goalkeeper Zülfikar Arıbaş to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hamburger SV's Gerard Swee played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tao Xun Ying in the 90th minute of play. Vahdet Olgun took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Zülfikar Arıbaş. Zülfikar Arıbaş dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0.

The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Hamburger SV had won after a very even match.
