Álvaro Tróia helped the player get up and apologised. Rodolfo Donato blasted a shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Giuseppe Lara having to make a save. Zé Carlos Cordeiro charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zé Carlos Cordeiro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Zé Carlos Cordeiro got a free kick in the 15th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dalmo Rocha in the 20th minute of play forced MUSHIBA FC's goalkeeper Murillo Valladares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dalmo Rocha got free with Murillo Valladares in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Michel Ramos's late challenge caught a Nova Iguaçu MZFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Michel Ramos helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Nova Iguaçu MZFC booed when MUSHIBA FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Michel Ramos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rodolfo Donato took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Giuseppe Lara. Giuseppe Lara dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After 35 minutes, Cacá Ramalho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the MUSHIBA FC and the Nova Iguaçu MZFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Anselmo Batista came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Nova Iguaçu MZFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anselmo Batista couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dalmo Rocha during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Giuseppe Lara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodolfo Donato in the 41st minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dalmo Rocha stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gernando Mineiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If César Alagoano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Telmo Barbosa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luizinho Neves charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luizinho Neves the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 69th match minute, Nova Iguaçu MZFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luizinho Neves to maneuver through the defense. In the 73rd minute Rodolfo Donato shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giuseppe Lara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dalmo Rocha in the 79th minute of play forced MUSHIBA FC's goalkeeper Murillo Valladares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Murillo Valladares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dalmo Rocha, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. In the 95th match minute, MUSHIBA FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frédson do Vale to maneuver through the defense. Murillo Valladares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dalmo Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
