In the 3rd minute Rui Avelar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raul Rähn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rui Avelar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Heldur Hermann kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. After 14 played minutes BRUGGE FC got a freekick which was hit by Gilberto Thuram. Lukasz Bendyk recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Göran Bröms made an important save on a dangerous shot by Diamantino Santos in the 22nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Petrigai Guau in the 27th minute of play forced Reaalne Madrid CF's goalkeeper Raul Rähn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of BRUGGE FC booed when Reaalne Madrid CF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lukasz Bendyk didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 31 minutes, Helder Cadanes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. BRUGGE FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Helder Cadanes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Raul Rähn came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by BRUGGE FC's Helder Cadanes. But to his dismay, Helder Cadanes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Raul Rähn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Petrigai Guau in the 43rd minute of play. 44 minutes into the game, Petrigai Guau cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Raul Rähn was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Reaalne Madrid CF players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. BRUGGE FC were winning 0-2.

The audience thought a goal was coming when 蒋誉朋 got free with Raul Rähn in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Reaalne Madrid CF's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Rui Avelar 54 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-3. The crowd rose to their feet as BRUGGE FC's Radoslaw Zagrodny slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Raul Rähn. That made the score 0-4 after 58 minutes of play. Raul Rähn made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when 蒋誉朋 sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Reaalne Madrid CF's Raul Rähn got control of the ball when Radoslaw Zagrodny tried to sneak it across the goal line. Göran Bröms showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Urti Machuca in the 64th minute of the match. Raul Rähn was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 83rd minute, Rui Avelar left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The BRUGGE FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-7. Diamantino Santos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Göran Bröms having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Petrigai Guau in the 96th minute of play forced Reaalne Madrid CF's goalkeeper Raul Rähn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the final whistle sounded BRUGGE FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Reaalne Madrid CF.
