The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 8 minutes into the match, FC Vershina ESPN's goalkeeper Charles-Antoine Carnevalli had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Clodoveo Cayo. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aristides Domenec in the 10th minute of play forced ► EL GRAN DOGO ◄'s goalkeeper Jose Nuñez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Clodoveo Cayo got free with Charles-Antoine Carnevalli in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 13th minute Cyprian Gierlach shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jose Nuñez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jose Nuñez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aristides Domenec, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cyprian Gierlach recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Federico Eleazar kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Danko Fuchs, 27 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Jose Nuñez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cyprian Gierlach's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. 30 minutes had been played when some careless play by ► EL GRAN DOGO ◄'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Danko Fuchs was slow to take the kick. During this time FC Vershina ESPN's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on FC Vershina ESPN's corner Danko Fuchs fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jose Nuñez quite easily take care of the ball. Baldomiro Laurgain might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Charles-Antoine Carnevalli. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Baldomiro Laurgain ran back to his position shaking his head. Jose Nuñez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aristides Domenec in the 35th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clodoveo Cayo in the 36th minute of play forced FC Vershina ESPN's goalkeeper Charles-Antoine Carnevalli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Clodoveo Cayo in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Charles-Antoine Carnevalli prevented the ball from getting in the gole. ► EL GRAN DOGO ◄ were awarded a corner in the 39th minute after FC Vershina ESPN's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luciano Federigo took the corner. ► EL GRAN DOGO ◄'s Luciano Federigo was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Charles-Antoine Carnevalli in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cyprian Gierlach in the 41st minute of play forced ► EL GRAN DOGO ◄'s goalkeeper Jose Nuñez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 48 minutes into the game, Clodoveo Cayo lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Charles-Antoine Carnevalli. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

FC Vershina ESPN's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aristides Domenec was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. ► EL GRAN DOGO ◄'s Steve Burmeister was substituted for Baldomiro Laurgain.
