The score was now 7-0. 39 minutes into the match, Camal Räfiyev notched a goal, 8-0, to the right of AC Milan's Panos Kamarinakis. Panos Kamarinakis was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fidel Gaitano in the 42nd minute of play forced AC Milan's goalkeeper Panos Kamarinakis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Fidel Gaitano kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Panos Kamarinakis. That made the score 9-0 in the 47 minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 9-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half.
