FC Ruh Lviv's Pavlo Paraschiy got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 30th minute, Myroslav Akymenko left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Ruh Lviv fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. When Illja Klochko came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the FC Ruh Lviv fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Illja Klochko couldn't finish the play. After 40 played minutes La Pointe Courte got a freekick which was hit by Yann Segond. After taking down the ball on FC Ruh Lviv's corner Vyacheslav Androsenko fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Sabri Fouquet quite easily take care of the ball. Raymond Lherbier hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

FC Ruh Lviv had played much better football throughout.
