The Last Try
Spectators: 7491 (Terracing: 5619, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 149) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Mingo Torrente made the kick off which started today's match. In the 3rd minute, Victorio Berdaitz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Mingo Torrente came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Newells Old Boys fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mingo Torrente couldn't finish the play. In the 6th match minute, El ultimo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aaron Ted to maneuver through the defense. Jorge Lizar's late challenge caught a El ultimo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jorge Lizar helped the player get up and apologised. In the 17th minute, Justo Clementi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The El ultimo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. In the 20th minute Mingo Torrente shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Niceto Pere saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Newells Old Boys's Alberto Txurio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Justo Clementi in the 27th minute of play. Anacleto Clementi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Niceto Pere read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. In the 29th minute, Cesar Cordairo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benito Urbez who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 31stth minute tested the skills of Alberto Txurio when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 34th minute, Guillermo Ovando made a precise shot to the right of Niceto Pere. El ultimo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Benicio Felipillo hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. The attack was good, but when Justo Clementi in the 41st minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Alberto Txurio was out of position in the 45 minute of play, and Benito Urbez capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Benito Urbez really showed his touch with that goal: 3-1.

53 minutes into the match, El ultimo's goal looked a bit too open when Mingo Torrente came free, but Niceto Pere reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 56thth minute of the game Anacleto Clementi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but El ultimo's Niceto Pere was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 57th minute Mingo Torrente shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Niceto Pere saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Newells Old Boys were awarded a corner in the 58th minute after El ultimo's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Mingo Torrente took the corner. The corner led Newells Old Boys's Mingo Torrente to fire away a dangerous shot which Niceto Pere despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Benito Urbez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alberto Txurio having to interfere. Justo Clementi scored 4-2 in the 68th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alberto Txurio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When El ultimo's Benito Urbez in the 73rd minute got a chance for a shot 73rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Newells Old Boys's goalie prevented a goal. 75 minutes into the game, Justo Clementi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-2. Alberto Txurio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 80 minutes into the match, Anacleto Clementi dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Niceto Pere, 5-3. 84 minutes into the game, Benito Urbez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-3. Alberto Txurio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 88th minute of the match Santos Bertol shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alberto Txurio showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Mingo Torrente recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Justo Clementi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alberto Txurio having to interfere. A collision led to Newells Old Boys getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Joaquin Jerrald hit a great ball. Alberto Txurio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Justo Clementi, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. El ultimo had won after a very even match.
