The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Giovani de Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Delmar Duarte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Charles Arantes in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Simon Beltran saved Furia Calamar from getting behind. Yuri de Queiroz kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. In the 12th minute, Delmar Duarte made a precise shot to the right of Giovani de Amaral. Portuguesa's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Giovani de Amaral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Villalba in the 21st minute of the match. In the 22nd minute Camilo Marin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giovani de Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Betinho Severo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simon Beltran having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Charles Arantes during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 31st minute, Betinho Severo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 34 minutes into the match, Portuguesa's goal looked a bit too open when Camilo Marin came free, but Giovani de Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Furia Calamar's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gastón Suso in the 35th minute. The corner led Furia Calamar's Gastón Suso to fire away a dangerous shot which Giovani de Amaral despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The supporters of Portuguesa booed when Furia Calamar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gastón Suso didn't get a good kick on the ball. 44 minutes into the match, Portuguesa's Charles Arantes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Simon Beltran narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Camilo Marin made a kick off. Giovani de Amaral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Camilo Marin, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. After 56 played minutes Portuguesa got a freekick which was hit by Germano Matorin. Portuguesa's Giovani de Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Camilo Marin in the 57th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Charles Arantes in the 89th minute of play forced Furia Calamar's goalkeeper Simon Beltran to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Furia Calamar's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
