Spectators: 7541 (Terracing: 5657, Seating: 1734, VIP seats: 150) Unidad de Matanza's Reynaldo Rios started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gláuber Cardozo in the 3rd minute of play forced Unidad de Matanza's goalkeeper Octavio Raymond to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 7 minutes into the match, Ricardo Cosme notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Unidad de Matanza's Octavio Raymond. Octavio Raymond was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 15th minute Gláuber Cardozo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Octavio Raymond saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Octavio Raymond showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedrão Souza, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Percival Prestes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Segundo Delfino in the 21st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedrão Souza in the 25th minute of play forced Unidad de Matanza's goalkeeper Octavio Raymond to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Octavio Raymond made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredo Fernandes in the 27th minute of play. After a rather tough play, REAL VASCO RIO's Cristóvão Melo got a free kick in the 28th minute. REAL VASCO RIO's Percival Prestes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save REAL VASCO RIO from getting a goal against them. Octavio Raymond showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gláuber Cardozo, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christian Ioritz in the 34th minute of play forced REAL VASCO RIO's goalkeeper Percival Prestes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Percival Prestes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christian Ioritz in the 36th minute of play. Percival Prestes was a little too slow when Christian Ioritz got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 37th minute. The score was now 1-1. After 41 played minutes REAL VASCO RIO got a freekick which was hit by Natã Nogueira. With 43 minutes on the clock, Matias Peyo commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The supporters of REAL VASCO RIO booed when Unidad de Matanza was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matias Peyo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 45 minutes into the match, Unidad de Matanza's goal looked a bit too open when Durvalino Sarmento came free, but Octavio Raymond reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pedrão Souza to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Unidad de Matanza's Matias Lidon got a free kick in the 50th minute. 53 minutes into the game, Natã Nogueira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Octavio Raymond was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Percival Prestes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Segundo Delfino's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. In the 61st minute Segundo Delfino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Percival Prestes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Percival Prestes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Segundo Delfino in the 65th minute of play. 68 minutes into the match, Unidad de Matanza's goal looked a bit too open when Natã Nogueira came free, but Octavio Raymond reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gláuber Cardozo kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Unidad de Matanza's Octavio Raymond played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfredo Fernandes in the 79th minute of play. Percival Prestes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luciano Elivareo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Alfredo Fernandes came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the REAL VASCO RIO fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfredo Fernandes couldn't finish the play. After 88 minutes, Alfredo Fernandes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the REAL VASCO RIO and the Unidad de Matanza players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 89th minute, Alfredo Fernandes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
