A collision led to Atletico Aragua FC getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Melchor Quadros hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alfredo Fernandes got free with Froylan Chagavia in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Froylan Chagavia was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Natã Nogueira showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 10 minute of play. Froylan Chagavia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Horácio Pires in the 13th minute of the match. In the 15th minute of the match, Sydney Mazza tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Froylan Chagavia saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Froylan Chagavia was a little too slow when Natã Nogueira got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 17th minute. The score was now 3-0. If Alfredo Fernandes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Pedrão Souza kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Froylan Chagavia. That made the score 4-0 in the 22 minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Atletico Aragua FC's zone, Natã Nogueira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Froylan Chagavia came out of the goal and Natã Nogueira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 26th minute, Gláuber Cardozo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Froylan Chagavia. The goal made the score 5-0. Froylan Chagavia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedrão Souza, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. In the 30th minute, Alfredo Fernandes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Froylan Chagavia was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-0. Atletico Aragua FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 33rd minute, when Pedrão Souza scored to the left of an out of position Froylan Chagavia, making the score, 7-0. Atletico Aragua FC's Froylan Chagavia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gláuber Cardozo in the 36th minute of play. Froylan Chagavia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alfredo Fernandes in the 46th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 8-0.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Otsoko Queipo to make the kick off. In the 54th minute, Alfredo Fernandes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The REAL VASCO RIO fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 9-0. In the 57th minute, Horácio Pires ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Froylan Chagavia was frozen by the shot and now it was 10-0. After having played for 60 minutes, Gláuber Cardozo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. REAL VASCO RIO's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gláuber Cardozo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Froylan Chagavia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gláuber Cardozo, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Froylan Chagavia didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alfredo Fernandes went, in the 66th minute, to the upper right corner, 11-0 was the resulting score. In the 71st minute, Gláuber Cardozo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Froylan Chagavia was frozen by the shot and now it was 12-0. Froylan Chagavia didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pedrão Souza went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 13-0 was the resulting score. 78 minutes into the game, Natã Nogueira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 14-0. Froylan Chagavia was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cordarin Alberete hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Atletico Aragua FC defense, Alfredo Fernandes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Froylan Chagavia. The Atletico Aragua FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Froylan Chagavia should have stopped the shot. Froylan Chagavia didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gláuber Cardozo went, in the 84th minute, to the upper right corner, 16-0 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedrão Souza in the 87th minute of play forced Atletico Aragua FC's goalkeeper Froylan Chagavia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Froylan Chagavia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gláuber Cardozo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Atletico Aragua FC's Froylan Chagavia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gláuber Cardozo in the 95th minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. REAL VASCO RIO fully deserved thier win.
