When Vito Porto came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Jereba 4EVER fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vito Porto couldn't finish the play. Tostão Cardoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zé Paulo Castro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ramón Paraíba made a great header on Jereba 4EVER's corner, it was just that Montesclarense E.C.'s Tostão Cardoso managed to reach the ball for a save. After 26 played minutes Jereba 4EVER got a freekick which was hit by Dudu Pimenta. Tostão Cardoso didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Vito Porto went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. A collision led to Montesclarense E.C. getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Cristian Sena hit a great ball. The supporters of Jereba 4EVER booed when Montesclarense E.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fellipe dos Santos didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Jereba 4EVER getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Vito Porto hit a great ball. Dieguinho Viana made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Marcos Figueiredo sent off a good shot on target. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The wind increased when Zé Paulo Castro made the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Montesclarense E.C.'s Tostão Cardoso got control of the ball when Zé Paulo Castro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tostão Cardoso was a little too slow when Abelardo Brodel got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 54th minute. The score was now 1-2. An unexpected shot in the 59th minute by Vito Porto got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 59 minutes into the match, Montesclarense E.C.'s goalkeeper Tostão Cardoso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vito Porto. In the 63rd minute Zé Paulo Castro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tostão Cardoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vito Porto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Tostão Cardoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tostão Cardoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Paulo Castro, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Paulo Castro in the 82nd minute of play forced Montesclarense E.C.'s goalkeeper Tostão Cardoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tostão Cardoso made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Vito Porto sent off a good shot on target. The Jereba 4EVER supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Jereba 4EVER would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
