Montesclarense E.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Wiliam Damião was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alfonso Valentine breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tostão Cardoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gonzalo Procopio in the 7th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pablo Chap in the 22nd minute of play forced Montesclarense E.C.'s goalkeeper Tostão Cardoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 23 minutes into the match, Montesclarense E.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Pablo Chap came free, but Tostão Cardoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tostão Cardoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pablo Chap, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Tostão Cardoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ermegildo Jerrald, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 37th match minute, Montesclarense E.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcos Figueiredo to maneuver through the defense. In the 40th minute Ciriaco Cayo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tostão Cardoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Pablo Chap came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the RED DEVIL fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pablo Chap couldn't finish the play. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wiliam Damião to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute, RED DEVIL's Ciriaco Cayo dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-1. Tostão Cardoso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ermegildo Jerrald in the 61st minute. If Wiliam Damião had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to RED DEVIL getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Ermegildo Jerrald hit a great ball. 66 minutes into the match, RED DEVIL's goal looked a bit too open when Wiliam Damião came free, but Alfonso Valentine reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the RED DEVIL defense, Wiliam Damião kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alfonso Valentine. The RED DEVIL fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alfonso Valentine should have stopped the shot. Tostão Cardoso came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by RED DEVIL's Ermegildo Jerrald. But to his dismay, Ermegildo Jerrald quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. In the 72nd minute Edgardo Bertran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tostão Cardoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Montesclarense E.C.'s zone, Ciriaco Cayo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tostão Cardoso came out of the goal and Ciriaco Cayo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 79th minute, Wiliam Damião hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 81st minute Wiliam Damião shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfonso Valentine saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tostão Cardoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ciriaco Cayo in the 83rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, RED DEVIL's Danilo Dominguez got a free kick in the 85th minute. The corner ended in Edgardo Bertran almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Montesclarense E.C.'s Tostão Cardoso did a great save. Tostão Cardoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciriaco Cayo, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched RED DEVIL eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
