But to his dismay, Hugo Abajas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. When Sérgio Silveira fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C.A. GUAYACO's protests and gave Sérgio Silveira a yellow card for diving instead. Sérgio Silveira kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. In the 30th minute Mendoza Joseph shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Agustin Avellaneda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 44 minutes into the match, C.A. GUAYACO's goal looked a bit too open when Ascencio Abechuco came free, but Arias Burgo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The C.A. GUAYACO fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Ascencio Abechuco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Arias Burgo made a huge save.
