The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind GD JULIO DINIS's goalkeeper Filipe Semedo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. FC Ouagadougou National were awarded a corner in the 5th minute after GD JULIO DINIS's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Issa Bado took the corner. The corner ended in Issa Bado almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but GD JULIO DINIS's Filipe Semedo did a great save. Ben Jaddon hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. A collision led to FC Ouagadougou National getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Jeremie Sterkx hit a great ball. 16 minutes into the match, GD JULIO DINIS's goal looked a bit too open when Pieter-Jan Rummens came free, but Filipe Semedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Filipe Semedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Issa Bado, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Norberto Santana might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Antonio Claeys. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Norberto Santana ran back to his position shaking his head. Antonio Claeys made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Norberto Santana in the 18th minute of play. After a rather tough play, GD JULIO DINIS's Josué Vargas got a free kick in the 20th minute. 22 minutes into the match, FC Ouagadougou National's goalkeeper Antonio Claeys had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Norberto Santana. Antonio Claeys came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by GD JULIO DINIS's Martinho Rios. But to his dismay, Martinho Rios quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Martinho Rios's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 32ndth minute, Antonio Claeys skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Paulo Aleixo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 44th match minute, GD JULIO DINIS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Josué Vargas to maneuver through the defense. After 45 minutes of play, FC Ouagadougou National's Pieter-Jan Rummens made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Filipe Semedo was left in no man's land by his defense there! After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pieter-Jan Rummens made a kick off. Filipe Semedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pieter-Jan Rummens in the 51st minute of play. FC Ouagadougou National's Antonio Claeys played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martinho Rios in the 55th minute of play. In the 60th minute, Caio Castelo Branco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, GD JULIO DINIS's Gregório Carvalhal got a free kick in the 61st minute. Paulo Aleixo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 66thth minute of the game Pieter-Jan Rummens who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but GD JULIO DINIS's Filipe Semedo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Martinho Rios had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Inácio Regalado hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Antonio Claeys took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Aleixo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Filipe Semedo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pieter-Jan Rummens in the 80th minute. In the 82nd minute, GD JULIO DINIS's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Klaus De Bougne fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Filipe Semedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pieter-Jan Rummens, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Pieter-Jan Rummens had several of the GD JULIO DINIS's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 89 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-2 score and a disappointed Filipe Semedo as he didn't even see the shot coming. Filipe Semedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pieter-Jan Rummens in the 93rd minute of the match. When the final whistle went the supporters of FC Ouagadougou National were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant GD JULIO DINIS side.
