Jeffrey Rits hit a great ball. 26 minutes into the match, FC Ouagadougou National's goal looked a bit too open when Elivélton Cruz came free, but Antonio Claeys reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Hamílton Proença's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Antonio Claeys was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Júlio Varela made a kick off. Jeffrey Rits was shown his second yellow card after 52 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 54th minute Elivélton Cruz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antonio Claeys saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hamílton Proença received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Antonio Claeys tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Antonio Claeys showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hamílton Proença in the 82nd minute of the match. With a little luck, FC Ouagadougou National's Antonio Claeys got control of the ball when Júlio Varela tried to sneak it across the goal line.
