Ludomil Chazen made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Aaron Kvist sent off a good shot on target. In the 29th minute, Herbert Tepper made a precise shot to the right of Elliott Levander. Leeds United FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Ludomil Chazen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aaron Kvist in the 33rd minute of play. In the 35th minute, Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 40 played minutes Heemskerk AC got a freekick which was hit by Konstanty Wojton. The crowd rose to their feet as Leeds United FC's Aaron Kvist slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ludomil Chazen. That made the score 2-1 after 42 minutes of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jacek Cupial stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Modesto Iratxo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Elliott Levander made a huge save. After 56 played minutes Leeds United FC got a freekick which was hit by Stig Rosen. Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Ludomil Chazen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Leeds United FC. Heemskerk AC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Leeds United FC the free kick. The supporters of Leeds United FC booed when Heemskerk AC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Modesto Iratxo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Modesto Iratxo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Elliott Levander read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. Ludomil Chazen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aaron Kvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute.
