The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Club Olimpia's Cebo Morejon, in the 3rd minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Club Olimpia. 15 minutes into the match, Cebo Morejon dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Umberto Cruz, 1-0. The supporters of Club Olimpia booed when C.D PAVILHAO 9 F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dieguinho dos Santos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cebo Morejon in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Umberto Cruz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tostão Borges recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cebo Morejon received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Umberto Cruz came out and tried to block the shot, but Cebo Morejon slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 25th minute. In the 36th match minute, Club Olimpia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alan Cano to maneuver through the defense. Rubio Guardia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Umberto Cruz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nando Costa hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in C.D PAVILHAO 9 F.C.'s zone, Cebo Morejon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Umberto Cruz came out of the goal and Cebo Morejon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 46th match minute, C.D PAVILHAO 9 F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enio Guerra to maneuver through the defense. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cebo Morejon stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to C.D PAVILHAO 9 F.C. getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Léo Alagoano hit a great ball. Umberto Cruz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cebo Morejon went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. In the 60th match minute, C.D PAVILHAO 9 F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Paulo Barral to maneuver through the defense. After 61 played minutes, Club Olimpia's Perico Porregimon shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Umberto Cruz came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Club Olimpia reached it. Cebo Morejon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Umberto Cruz having to interfere. Umberto Cruz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cebo Morejon in the 71st minute of the match. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind C.D PAVILHAO 9 F.C.'s goalkeeper Umberto Cruz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Cebo Morejon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Olimpia's supporters rose to their feet, but Cebo Morejon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Umberto Cruz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 77 minutes into the match, C.D PAVILHAO 9 F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Cebo Morejon came free, but Umberto Cruz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 79thth minute of the game Cebo Morejon who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but C.D PAVILHAO 9 F.C.'s Umberto Cruz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Umberto Cruz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cebo Morejon, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. When Nando Costa fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C.D PAVILHAO 9 F.C.'s protests and gave Nando Costa a yellow card for diving instead. Nando Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. The supporters of Club Olimpia booed when C.D PAVILHAO 9 F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nando Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Club Olimpia fully deserved thier win.
