Laércio de Almeida showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ellsworth Lindsay, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. After having played for 61 minutes, Tiaguinho Cestarolli managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cestarolli FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tiaguinho Cestarolli was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With an all-out effort, Varennes's Laércio de Almeida threw himself towards the right post 67 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Owen Purcell, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Cestarolli FC's Laércio de Almeida proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Cestarolli FC from getting a goal against them. In the 95th minute, Júlio Souza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew the final whistle, Cestarolli FC could leave the field as winners, despite Varennes having more of the ball for most of the match.
