Vlad Covrig made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Venancio Cordearo in the 28th minute of play. Matias Ramond kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. In the 34th minute of the match Sebastian Istodor sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fernado Lima skillfully saved the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Venancio Cordearo got free with Vlad Covrig in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

Venancio Cordearo might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vlad Covrig. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. An unexpectedly hard shot by Venancio Cordearo in the 54th minute of play forced PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's goalkeeper Vlad Covrig to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Calistrat Şerbănescu scored 1-4 in the 89th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fernado Lima, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Mircea Jupân got his second yellow card of the match in the 92nd minute. The referee ordered Mircea Jupân off the ground. In the 93rd match minute, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mircea Jupân to maneuver through the defense. When the final whistle sounded PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Pegale De Puntín.
