The supporters of Werneck FC - DMZ booed when Gurdurão was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Narciso Donatello didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 37th minute, João Vítor Dionísio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Dalmo Santos kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gilson Queiroz. That made the score 2-0 in the 39 minute of play. Caco Corrêa's late challenge caught a Gurdurão's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gilson Queiroz came out of the goal and Dalmo Santos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pepe Giliamsen got free with Gilson Queiroz in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 46 minutes, Tiago Freitas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Werneck FC - DMZ and the Gurdurão players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Werneck FC - DMZ getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Tiago Freitas hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Werneck FC - DMZ's zone, Douglas de Amaral stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilson Queiroz came out of the goal and Douglas de Amaral tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Caco Corrêa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gilson Queiroz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pepe Giliamsen, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Gilson Queiroz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pepe Giliamsen went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. In the 67th minute, Pepe Giliamsen made a precise shot to the right of Gilson Queiroz. Werneck FC - DMZ's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Zé Paulo Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot. Werneck FC - DMZ's supporters rose to their feet, but Zé Paulo Lara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gilson Queiroz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eusébio Marquez during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
