After some careless play in the Chanchos defense, Basílio do Valle kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gervasio Dei. The Chanchos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gervasio Dei should have stopped the shot. With a little luck, Chanchos's Gervasio Dei got control of the ball when Carlos Fernando Aparecido tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gervasio Dei made an important save on a dangerous shot by Carlos Fernando Aparecido in the 10th minute. Chanchos's Gervasio Dei played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ian Cerezo in the 13th minute of play. Gervasio Dei showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Fernando Aparecido in the 17th minute of the match. After 20 played minutes SE Palmeiras got a freekick which was hit by Ian Cerezo. If Nicanor Nabar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 24 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Chanchos! 29 minutes into the match, Chanchos's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Fernando Aparecido came free, but Gervasio Dei reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Chanchos's Abel Ursino was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Nilson Dracena in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The supporters of SE Palmeiras booed when Chanchos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rosendo Estevez didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 37th match minute, SE Palmeiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Vítor de Almeida to maneuver through the defense. Basílio do Valle let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 42nd minute shot 3-0 at rihgt post. With a little luck, Chanchos's Gervasio Dei got control of the ball when Zé Augusto Luz tried to sneak it across the goal line. 47 minutes into the match, Chanchos's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Augusto Luz came free, but Gervasio Dei reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ian Cerezo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Chanchos's zone, Carlos Fernando Aparecido stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gervasio Dei came out of the goal and Carlos Fernando Aparecido tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gervasio Dei made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ian Cerezo in the 62nd minute of play. In the 64th minute, Abel Ursino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Basílio do Valle took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 66th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gervasio Dei. Chanchos's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 67th minute Ian Cerezo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gervasio Dei saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Zé Augusto Luz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 69 played minutes Chanchos got a freekick which was hit by Rosendo Estevez. A collision led to SE Palmeiras getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Acácio Pirani hit a great ball. In the 75th minute, Zé Augusto Luz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gervasio Dei was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Gervasio Dei showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ian Cerezo in the 81st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ian Cerezo in the 83rd minute of play forced Chanchos's goalkeeper Gervasio Dei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, Chanchos's Nilson Dracena threw himself towards the right post 84 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Rosendo Estevez, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After having played for 87 minutes, Ian Cerezo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SE Palmeiras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ian Cerezo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 90th minute Ian Cerezo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gervasio Dei saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 95 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Chanchos!
