The Italia fans' excitement grew in the 18th match minute when Italia's Fabian Gipuzkoa looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Fabian Gipuzkoa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 28th minute, Fabian Gipuzkoa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 31st minute Fabian Gipuzkoa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Judas Icardi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Judas Icardi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabian Gipuzkoa in the 40th minute of play. Gilberto Arias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ignacio Guillelme, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabian Gipuzkoa in the 44th minute of play forced Fcion C.A.'s goalkeeper Judas Icardi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Italia getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Braulio Nalo hit a great ball. After 47 played minutes Fcion C.A. got a freekick which was hit by Lino Sanson.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fabian Gipuzkoa to make the kick off. Judas Icardi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabian Gipuzkoa, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. The throw-in from Lino Sanson in the 67th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Italia's Prospero Johans. Isaias Maura sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Italia's Gilberto Arias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alonzo Tartalo in the 72nd minute of play. Fabian Gipuzkoa might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Judas Icardi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fabian Gipuzkoa ran back to his position shaking his head. When Fabian Gipuzkoa came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Italia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fabian Gipuzkoa couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Elvio Giraldo during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Italia's Elvio Giraldo got his second yellow card of the match in the 85th minute. The referee ordered Elvio Giraldo off the ground. Elvio Giraldo kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match.
