After 4 minutes of play, Aves Negras's Ciriaco Calvino made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rodrigo Espiridion was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ciriaco Calvino in the 17th minute of play forced io.dasola's goalkeeper Alisson Becker to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aves Negras were furious when Nicanor Rolado was red carded, 18 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 20th minute there was a penalty for io.dasola. Carmine Sciamanna stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Rodrigo Espiridion. 2-1. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind io.dasola's goalkeeper Alisson Becker, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 28 played minutes Aves Negras got a freekick which was hit by Leandro Abeita. Fausto Berenguer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Aves Negras's Victorino Isaio got a free kick in the 37th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabrizio Rosi in the 39th minute of play forced Aves Negras's goalkeeper Rodrigo Espiridion to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aves Negras's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Demetrio Zoff 40 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 3-1. Rodrigo Espiridion made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fulvio Di Florio in the 45th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Leo Lawrence to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Leo Lawrence managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aves Negras's supporters rose to their feet, but Leo Lawrence was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alisson Becker breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alisson Becker took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leo Lawrence, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 62nd match minute, Aves Negras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leandro Abeita to maneuver through the defense. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st minute Fabrizio Rosi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodrigo Espiridion saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alisson Becker made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ezequiel Roldan in the 80th minute of play. Aves Negras were awarded a corner in the 88th minute after io.dasola's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Edelmiro Martxot took the corner. A well-hit corner resulted in Leo Lawrence heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Leo Lawrence during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Aves Negras getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Leo Lawrence hit a great ball. When Leo Lawrence came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Aves Negras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leo Lawrence couldn't finish the play.
