Spectators: 7523 (Terracing: 5643, Seating: 1730, VIP seats: 150) Carpathian Wolves's Doru Ghiondea started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Carpathian Wolves booed when Clube Audax Metropolitano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hélio Loureiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Doru Ghiondea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Falcão Severo having to interfere. In the 7th play minute Codrin Aalexoaiei came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Falcão Severo. 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomás Borges in the 15th minute of play forced Carpathian Wolves's goalkeeper Nicodim Arghirescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Clube Audax Metropolitano's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Miguel Fontes in the 17th minute. Carpathian Wolves's Nicodim Arghirescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Fontes in the 18th minute of play. A collision led to Carpathian Wolves getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Doru Ghiondea hit a great ball. With a little luck, Clube Audax Metropolitano's Falcão Severo got control of the ball when Ionică Alb tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ionică Alb recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Carpathian Wolves getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Roger Duggan hit a great ball. Miguel Fontes might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nicodim Arghirescu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Miguel Fontes ran back to his position shaking his head. 32 minutes into the match, Carpathian Wolves's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Paulo Maia came free, but Nicodim Arghirescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nicodim Arghirescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Fontes in the 33rd minute of play. Nicodim Arghirescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Paulo Maia, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. 35 minutes into the match, Luís Paulo Maia notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Carpathian Wolves's Nicodim Arghirescu. Nicodim Arghirescu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Hélio Loureiro's late challenge caught a Carpathian Wolves's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hélio Loureiro helped the player get up and apologised. Hélio Loureiro kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Ionică Alb managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carpathian Wolves's supporters rose to their feet, but Ionică Alb was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Falcão Severo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Clube Audax Metropolitano's zone, Codrin Aalexoaiei stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Falcão Severo came out of the goal and Codrin Aalexoaiei tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Carpathian Wolves getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Doru Ghiondea hit a great ball. Carpathian Wolves's Nicodim Arghirescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Fontes in the 47th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomás Borges was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute the ball was on its way in behind Carpathian Wolves's goalkeeper Nicodim Arghirescu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Roni Van Lueven hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Ionică Alb hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Clube Audax Metropolitano's Falcão Severo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Codrin Aalexoaiei in the 58th minute of play. Falcão Severo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Doru Ghiondea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nicodim Arghirescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Paulo Maia in the 61st minute of play. Nicodim Arghirescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Miguel Fontes in the 62nd minute. Falcão Severo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Codrin Aalexoaiei, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Germano Gerber received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Nicodim Arghirescu came out and tried to block the shot, but Germano Gerber slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 71st minute. Clube Audax Metropolitano made a substitution. Sílvio Luís Pimenta replaced Germano Gerber. In the 77th match minute, Carpathian Wolves was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Doru Ghiondea to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Carpathian Wolves's Codrin Aalexoaiei got a free kick in the 80th minute. Sílvio Luís Pimenta kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. When Codrin Aalexoaiei fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Carpathian Wolves's protests and gave Codrin Aalexoaiei a yellow card for diving instead. In the 83rd minute, Codrin Aalexoaiei hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carpathian Wolves's Nicodim Arghirescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victor Mattos in the 89th minute of play. The referee gave Moise Pandele a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 94th minute, Moise Pandele hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sílvio Luís Pimenta charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sílvio Luís Pimenta the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.
