Alfredo Gaizkine hit a great ball. Nueva Lepra FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Edgardo Corderun in the 12th minute. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Aaron Fertus advanced and headed the ball into goal, 0-1 in the 13th minute. 15 minutes into the match, Les diables noirs's goal looked a bit too open when Aaron Fertus came free, but Kevan Grange reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stéphane Cueille's late challenge caught a Nueva Lepra FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Stéphane Cueille helped the player get up and apologised. After 18 played minutes Les diables noirs got a freekick which was hit by Stéphane Cueille. In the 21st minute, Thierry Henri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Les diables noirs booed when Nueva Lepra FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anacleto Dolfos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kevan Grange made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evaristo Astigar in the 29th minute of play. Aaron Fertus struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Kevan Grange didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. After 39 played minutes Les diables noirs got a freekick which was hit by Thierry Henri. Les diables noirs's Kevan Grange played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfredo Gaizkine in the 41st minute of play. Kevan Grange showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aaron Fertus, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Aaron Fertus to make the kick off. Kevan Grange showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aaron Fertus in the 51st minute of the match. Kevan Grange made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Alfredo Gaizkine sent off a good shot on target. When Gustave Pierrel came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Les diables noirs fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gustave Pierrel couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thierry Henri in the 59th minute of play forced Nueva Lepra FC's goalkeeper Gonzalo Guillelme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 64th minute, Les diables noirs's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Alfredo Gaizkine fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Joey Weill hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Raoul Levy hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. In the 72nd match minute, Les diables noirs was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eymeric Laguerre to maneuver through the defense. Gonzalo Guillelme didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Thierry Henri went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score.
