After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, William Álvarez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nacional Potosí's supporters rose to their feet, but William Álvarez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Constantino Elija breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 9 minutes into the match, William Álvarez notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Yalapa's Constantino Elija. Constantino Elija was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. William Álvarez scored 2-0 in the 13th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Constantino Elija, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the Yalapa defense, Quirze Abello kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Constantino Elija. The Yalapa fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Constantino Elija should have stopped the shot. Ángel Ortiz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Constantino Elija stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Quirze Abello's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. William Álvarez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Constantino Elija having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 6-0.

The wind increased when William Álvarez made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, William Álvarez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Constantino Elija. Yalapa's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that William Álvarez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0. In the 57th minute, William Álvarez made a precise shot to the right of Constantino Elija. Yalapa's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 8-0. A collision led to Yalapa getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Simon Eneto hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by William Álvarez in the 65th minute of play forced Yalapa's goalkeeper Constantino Elija to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Yalapa's Constantino Elija played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by William Álvarez in the 66th minute of play. Nacional Potosí's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Yalapa the free kick. After 74 played minutes Nacional Potosí got a freekick which was hit by Xayveon Aballe. After 77 minutes, Luisito Atauri mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Yalapa and the Nacional Potosí players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Yalapa getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Luisito Atauri hit a great ball. In the 79th minute, William Álvarez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Nacional Potosí fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 10-0. In the 84th minute Quirze Abello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Constantino Elija saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Yalapa's Aurelio Aztore got a free kick in the 85th minute. Rogelio Abel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling William Álvarez in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Constantino Elija prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the referee ended the match the Nacional Potosí players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
