But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cayetano Ihintza couldn't finish the play. Petru Popan hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Teodoro Ishmael fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcel Noica having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Machine Gun Kelly's Teodoro Ishmael got a free kick in the 13th minute. A collision led to Machine Gun Kelly getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Sixto Ignado's late challenge caught a Fc S.Zaharesti's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carolo Ruisko was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 30 minutes into the game, Ilie Tolea was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fc S.Zaharesti's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Machine Gun Kelly the free kick. After a rather tough play, Machine Gun Kelly's Cayetano Ihintza got a free kick in the 45th minute. After 47 played minutes Machine Gun Kelly got a freekick which was hit by Anier Herena. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nemesio Acuña to make the kick off.
