In the 2nd match minute, Itajaí Football Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Norberto Abreu to maneuver through the defense. Itajaí Football Club's Christiano Cearense proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save Itajaí Football Club from getting a goal against them. Luís Paulo de Castro took the ball and in the 7 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Durval Lage. Durval Lage dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 14thth minute of the game Jailson de Senna who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but LA COSA NOSTRA's Durval Lage was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 17th minute of the game Paulo Mattos made a throw-in which Juarês Gerber played forward. When Afonso Portugal fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored LA COSA NOSTRA's protests and gave Afonso Portugal a yellow card for diving instead. After 26 played minutes LA COSA NOSTRA got a freekick which was hit by 乔义竞. Durval Lage took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juarês Gerber, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 43 played minutes Itajaí Football Club got a freekick which was hit by Luís Fabiano Corrêa. Durval Lage showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Paulo de Castro, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jailson de Senna to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luís Fabiano Corrêa got free with Durval Lage in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Norberto Abreu during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of LA COSA NOSTRA booed when Itajaí Football Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Norberto Abreu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Itajaí Football Club's zone, Timóteo Lage stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christiano Cearense came out of the goal and Timóteo Lage tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, LA COSA NOSTRA's 乔义竞 got a free kick in the 60th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling 乔义竞 in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Christiano Cearense prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 78 minutes into the match, Afonso Portugal notched a goal, 4-2, to the right of Itajaí Football Club's Christiano Cearense. Christiano Cearense was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd rose to their feet as Itajaí Football Club's Jailson de Senna slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Durval Lage. That made the score 4-3 after 83 minutes of play. In the 96th minute Luís Paulo de Castro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Durval Lage saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Many of Itajaí Football Club's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Itajaí Football Club may have spent more time on the ball, but LA COSA NOSTRA were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
