Domingos Mambru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerardo Pirmin in the 20th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Rondeau's Sergio Maxin got a free kick in the 22nd minute. 25 minutes into the match, Atlético Nacional's Gerardo Pirmin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Domingos Mambru narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 35 minutes, Gerardo Pirmin took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Domingos Mambru to make any attempt to save it. When Sergio Maxin fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rondeau's protests and gave Sergio Maxin a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Rondeau's Sergio Maxin got a free kick in the 42nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Rondeau's zone, Gerardo Pirmin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Domingos Mambru came out of the goal and Gerardo Pirmin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gerardo Pirmin to make the kick off. Tadeo Barea hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. Wilfredo Berriotxoa acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 51st minute, took the ball on the long shot from Miguel Inocente. In the 56th minute, Gerardo Pirmin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Atlético Nacional fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. When Baltasar Ondino fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The Atlético Nacional fans' excitement grew in the 64th match minute when Atlético Nacional's Gerardo Pirmin looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Higinio Ofelio hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. In the 72nd minute of the match, Baltasar Ondino got a very nice opportunity to score, but Wilfredo Berriotxoa was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 90th match minute, Atlético Nacional was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Higinio Ofelio to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Atlético Nacional had won after a very even match.
