Delphine Stars's supporters crossed their fingers, but Costel Cobzeanu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Răzvan Balaban hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. If Nestor Abilio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Victor Aurre sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 43 minutes, Răzvan Balaban mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Delphine Stars and the chacarita juniors players grew even worse after the yellow card. Răzvan Balaban kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Petruț Ţopescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nestor Abilio, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nestor Abilio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Petruț Ţopescu made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Jimeno Aimar sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Delphine Stars getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Emanuel Tiberiu hit a great ball. Jimeno Aimar struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Petruț Ţopescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for chacarita juniors. In the 60th minute, Emanuel Tiberiu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Petruț Ţopescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Delphine Stars's Petruț Ţopescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nestor Abilio in the 79th minute of play. The corner ended in Victor Aurre almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Delphine Stars's Petruț Ţopescu did a great save. After 81 played minutes Delphine Stars got a freekick which was hit by Denis Nenciu. In the 82nd minute, Răzvan Balaban hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jimeno Aimar got free with Petruț Ţopescu in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Petruț Ţopescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Victor Aurre in the 87th minute. Petruț Ţopescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nestor Abilio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 91 minutes into the match, Delphine Stars's goal looked a bit too open when Nestor Abilio came free, but Petruț Ţopescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcel Cristache hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. When the final whistle sounded chacarita juniors left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Delphine Stars.
