Felipe Guzman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Vítor Bittencourt in the 14th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Feliberto Olentzaro in the 15th minute of play forced Gavião Kyikatejê's goalkeeper Nick McVean to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Gavião Kyikatejê's Davie McWhirter got a free kick in the 16th minute. Felipe Guzman was out of position in the 19 minute of play, and João Vítor Bittencourt capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Atletico Calamar Saavedra were awarded a corner in the 24th minute after Gavião Kyikatejê's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Emmanuel Santiago took the corner. 29 minutes had been played when some careless play by Gavião Kyikatejê's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. The corner led Atletico Calamar Saavedra's Emmanuel Santiago to fire away a dangerous shot which Nick McVean despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. With a little luck, Atletico Calamar Saavedra's Felipe Guzman got control of the ball when João Vítor Bittencourt tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nick McVean made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvio Miro in the 34th minute of play. Ewan Hughes kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Silvio Miro scored 3-1 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nick McVean, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. João Vítor Bittencourt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Felipe Guzman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Vítor Bittencourt, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. When Davie McWhirter fell near the penalty area in the 48th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gavião Kyikatejê's protests and gave Davie McWhirter a yellow card for diving instead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and João Vítor Bittencourt made a kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Gavião Kyikatejê's goal looked a bit too open when Fulgencio Nel came free, but Nick McVean reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Atletico Calamar Saavedra booed when Gavião Kyikatejê was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Davie McWhirter didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 58th minute, Jørgen Waage fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 60 minutes into the match, João Vítor Bittencourt had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Felipe Guzman. Atletico Calamar Saavedra's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that João Vítor Bittencourt was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fulgencio Nel in the 63rd minute of play forced Gavião Kyikatejê's goalkeeper Nick McVean to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. But to his dismay, João Vítor Bittencourt quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-1. In the 76thth minute of the game João Vítor Bittencourt who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Atletico Calamar Saavedra's Felipe Guzman was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 77 played minutes Gavião Kyikatejê got a freekick which was hit by Robin Laidlaw. Nick McVean showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Delmiro Mambru, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. After 82 minutes, João Vítor Bittencourt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gavião Kyikatejê and the Atletico Calamar Saavedra players grew even worse after the yellow card. Nick McVean took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Delmiro Mambru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fulgencio Nel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nick McVean read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. João Vítor Bittencourt blasted a shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Felipe Guzman having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fulgencio Nel in the 90th minute of play forced Gavião Kyikatejê's goalkeeper Nick McVean to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Felipe Guzman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Vítor Bittencourt in the 95th minute of play. João Vítor Bittencourt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Felipe Guzman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
