The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Silvio Miro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ralf Pettersson was slow to take the kick. During this time Worst Team Ever's players had a chance to rest. A very nice done corner allowed Andréas Lidman to score against Felipe Guzman in Atletico Calamar Saavedra's goal. 0-1 after 14 minutes. Felipe Guzman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isaias Eguerdi in the 18th minute of play. After 18 minutes, Basilio Rioja mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atletico Calamar Saavedra and the Worst Team Ever players grew even worse after the yellow card. Basilio Rioja hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Felipe Guzman didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Isaias Eguerdi went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. When Isaias Eguerdi came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Worst Team Ever fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Isaias Eguerdi couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Worst Team Ever's Lazaros Kotsiopoulos got control of the ball when Jørgen Waage tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lazaros Kotsiopoulos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Delmiro Mambru in the 27th minute of play. Worst Team Ever's Lazaros Kotsiopoulos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Delmiro Mambru in the 37th minute of play. Lazaros Kotsiopoulos made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Silvio Miro sent off a good shot on target. Felipe Guzman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stor Klack in the 40th minute of play. After 41 minutes Atletico Calamar Saavedra's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ralf Pettersson who took care of the corner kick. A well-hit corner resulted in József Murai heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. In the 47th minute Fulgencio Nel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lazaros Kotsiopoulos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Thanks to some nice moves Stor Klack could shoot a difficult shot in the 52nd minute, which Felipe Guzman however easily saved by the left post. Fulgencio Nel scored 1-3 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lazaros Kotsiopoulos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 60 minutes into the match, Worst Team Ever's Stor Klack sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Felipe Guzman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Worst Team Ever's Stor Klack got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Silvio Miro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Lazaros Kotsiopoulos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 68th minute, Martin Silvino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Atletico Calamar Saavedra's Felipe Guzman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Atletico Calamar Saavedra from getting a goal against them. In the 78th match minute, Atletico Calamar Saavedra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Feliberto Olentzaro to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Worst Team Ever's Stor Klack slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Felipe Guzman. That made the score 1-4 after 78 minutes of play. Lazaros Kotsiopoulos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jørgen Waage in the 81st minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Atletico Calamar Saavedra's zone, Ralf Pettersson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Felipe Guzman came out of the goal and Ralf Pettersson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 84 minutes, Stor Klack made it 1-5 with a short kick to the right side. Atletico Calamar Saavedra's Felipe Guzman tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Isaias Eguerdi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Felipe Guzman was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. 89 minutes into the match, Worst Team Ever's goal looked a bit too open when Fulgencio Nel came free, but Lazaros Kotsiopoulos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 95 minutes into the match, Atletico Calamar Saavedra's goal looked a bit too open when Isaias Eguerdi came free, but Felipe Guzman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Worst Team Ever walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
