The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6th minute Blas Bolaños shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but István Földes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by János Döbrögi in the 17th minute of play forced Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's goalkeeper Christovao Haces to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 19 minutes into the game, Ferenc Vass recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Christovao Haces. Ferenc Vass showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. After 22 minutes, Géza Sipos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gyál United and the Club Dep. Soc. Rodo players grew even worse after the yellow card. Géza Sipos kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Ottó Gyarmati's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Christovao Haces read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. A collision led to Gyál United getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Géza Sipos hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's Horacio Barcaiztegui got a free kick in the 45th minute. In the 46th match minute, Club Dep. Soc. Rodo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan-Carlos Otero to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's Juan-Carlos Otero got a free kick in the 47th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Ferenc Vass made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th match minute, Gyál United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Géza Sipos to maneuver through the defense. Blas Bolaños scored 1-1 in the 59th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of István Földes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Christovao Haces showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ottó Gyarmati, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. After a rather tough play, Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's Vasco Larrangos got a free kick in the 83rd minute. After 88 played minutes Club Dep. Soc. Rodo got a freekick which was hit by Gonchan Marisancena. Gyál United were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Club Dep. Soc. Rodo to leave the ground with a draw.
